Our beliefs and values

Mandate: To Release Grace, Hope and Freedom

Excerpt from our story:

‘Many of the people who have come and gone over the years have been bearers of varying degrees of emotional, physical or religious trauma. Many of whom have come or been caught, have been tagged: touched, cleansed, liberated, equipped, encouraged, refreshed, healed, baptized, made whol-er. They then have relished in their new freedom and found the courage to move forward, move away or simply start afresh.’

Mission:To make the most of every opportunity to touch any person

of any age with the grace of God

Motives: (Core Values)

1.Outsiders first – Insiders second: Mission is our primary focus

               2. Irresponsibly responsible: Responsibly communicating God’s ‘irresponsible’ grace

                       3. Predictably unpredictable: Living fully and creatively in our 21st century context

4. Naturally supernatural: Each uniquely empowered to fulfil God’s purposes

5. Comfortably uncomfortable: Sustaining life through relationships

Map: (A simple strategy to fulfil our mandate, mission and values)

Circulate … among friends, family and community

Cultivate … a relationship with God with others

reCreate … everyone I meet will benefit from me being in relationship with Jesus

Celebrate… God's transforming Grace every chance we get

Metaphors: (Concepts that help us understand our Mandate and Mission)

  •       Open Door (John 10:9)
  •       Oasis – Well – Living Water
  •       Surf Life Saving (rescue and restoration)
  •       Accident and Emergency
  •       Tag and Release (setting people free)

iMagine: (our future as a better place)

• A people known for our freedom, exuberance and participation, where we are so ecstatic over our relationship with the Living God that our exuberance bubbles out of us like springs of life giving water - where children dance, not because we tell them to but because they want to and they see the joy in us...

• A people of artistry and creativity where all talent is welcomed enhanced and developed to its greatest potential, where the best songs have yet to be written...

• A people with whom the presence of God is so real that others will be cueing up wanting to know how they can have what we’re having… where others are healed through worship because the presence of God is so real...

• A generous people of unlimited resources where instead of us applying to community organizations for grants, people will be applying to us for grants, we will be the giving organization...

• A people who are so well known in the community as a people who care, a people who have a light on and a people with an Open Door that perhaps the police may even come to consider us as a first port of call when they need a place of refuge for someone…

• A people in whom there is no judgment or condemnation of others because each person knows that we are simply a sinner saved by that same Grace: Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved…

• A people in whom guilt and fear is replaced by encouragement. Failure is seen an opportunity for growth, obstacles are interpreted as opportunities and we ‘build each other up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature…’ Ephesians 4:13
